Australian Senate Prayer

The Australian Senate has had the custom of opening its proceedings at the beginning of each sitting day with a christian prayer. There is now a proposal to replace the parliamentary prayer with an invitation to prayer or reflection. This would give an opportunity to all present, christian or otherwise, to reflect from whatever perspective they bring to the Chamber. CAHS supports this change.
